Infant

Our colorful play area for the infants is designed to meet the various stages of development during the first year of life. We have experienced, long term caregivers who make a monthly plan keeping in mind where the child is at developmentally. The room is a very nurturing and loving environment and is a “home away from home.”

Toddler

Our toddler classroom helps the infant transition to the fun stage of being a “big kid.” This is a very interactive environment. The nurturing teachers develop a weekly lesson plan designed with each stage of development in mind. This includes language, small and large muscle motor skills, as well as cognitive and social-emotional development. The activities include art and sensory, music and story time, and manipulative play. This is such a great time of wonder and exploration.

Twos

Our two- and early three-year-old program fosters creativity, self-help skills, and fun as children transition from infancy to the start of their preschool years. With the use of a thematic program and the following developmental centers, the children are encouraged to explore and interact in the areas of art, science, math, language, movement and music, and dramatic play. Our lead two-year-old teacher has been here for over 20 years and is very knowledgeable. We also work on toilet learning in this room! We have our own bathroom complete with a diaper table, a “big” toilet and potty chairs that are cleaned and sanitized after each use.

PreSchool

The Pre-School room includes children ages 3 to early 4’s. Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate (DAP). This is such a crucial time of early development and we are here to help your child succeed. The weekly lesson plan includes activities to promote all of the areas of development and also includes areas such as science and math. We have structured group times which include learning the calendar, weather, group games, music and literature. The lead teacher has her degree in early childhood development and has 30 years teaching experience!

Pre-K Weekly

We are excited about our Pre-Kindergarten program! Each fall we begin a new class in accordance with Parkway & Pattonville School district calendar. If your child is turning 5 by July 31st, this is the room for her/him!   This is a Kindergarten readiness program.  We work on a letter and a number each week  and learn 10 sight words. We learn how to hold a pencil correctly and practice writing on lined paper. These are just some of the skills we work on. We work on other skills necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond including decision making, responsibility, cooperation and conflict resolution.  It is so rewarding to see them grow and and help them become ready for elementary school.
